Drama arises when coarse sampling (large Δt) and high precision gain (g) make smooth changes appear as discontinuous jumps. Presence dissolves drama by increasing temporal resolution.

Tip: Increase Δt to see how coarse sampling creates "jumpscares". Increase g to amplify sensitivity. The same underlying reality produces vastly different experiences!

Core Equations:
Δxₖ = x(tₖ₊₁) − x(tₖ)
g = π_PE / π_prior
|Δxₖ|ₚₑᵣc = g · |Δxₖ|
Drama if: g·|Δxₖ| > D
Top panel: Continuous x(t) in white + your discrete samples (step function). Red = drama jump, Blue = manageable change.
Bottom panel: Perceived jump magnitude |Δxₖ|ₚₑᵣc = g·|Δxₖ| per step. Bars above threshold D (dashed line) indicate drama.
